Trolley Bicycling Åseda-Hultanäs-Triabo

3From the year 2004 and forward you may trolley bicycle on Smalspåret from Åseda to Triabo. New for this season is that you can bicycle all the way from Åseda to Virserum, which is about 30 kilometres one way. The rental of trolley bicyclesis arranged with help from Smalspåret i Hultsfred AB, in cooperation with Föreningen Smalspåret Växjö-Västervik.

Welcome to rent your trolley bicycle at the railway station in Åseda and pedal along the track through deep forests, small lakes and open plains. Sometimes, a long distance from the public roads with a big chance to see the swedish wildlife along the route.

Dates open:

Trolley route Åseda–Triabo is open mondays to saturdays between 8th of July – 10th of August.

Trolley route Åseda–Virserum is open during 10th to 23rd of June and 12th to 25th of August.

Booking must be made at least one day ahead. The trolley bicycle rental is found right by the railway station in Åseda, at the small red building next to the tracks.

Members of the "Föreningen Smalspåret Växjö-Västervik" association and stockholders of Smalspåret i Hultsfred AB get 20% discounts on the above mentioned prices.

Rules and tips for your trolley ride

The trolley bicycles are to be used in such a way that you can stop them on a short notice. Please note that there can be other bikers out on the track and that they might be heading in your direction. Trolleys going in the direction to Åseda(on their way back from Virserum) have priority, life of your bike if you meet anyone going in that direction. Please show consideration to other bikers and lift off your trolley when you take longer brakes along the route.

When crossing roads you must stopand check for cars. Walk the trolley over the road and through track switches, they can easily derail if you bike through them.
