Our vehicles

Motor coaches

The society "Föreningen Rädda Smalspåret" bought most of the motor coaches placed in Växjö from former SJ(Statens Järnvägar) after the shutdown of acommodation trains between Växjö and Västervik. These were later transfered into a company named VHVJ. VHVJ later took over YP 797 from Roslagsbanan and the carriage UBFYP 2110 from Uppsala Lenna Järnväg. The vehicles were bought by SmAB after VHVJ went bankrupt. In 1997 most of the vehicles were transfered to us, Föreningen Smalspåret. The coaches that are good enough for traffic has since then been used in traffic by Tjustbygdens Järnvägsförening norh of Hultsfred and during the last years also in Smalspåret i Hultsfred AB's trains south of Hultsfred. 

In 2006 a new deposition agreement was signed which gives TJF the usage right for all railcars except for YP 873 during a 20-year period. YP 873 is signed for a three year contract which is renewed continuous.

Locomotives and wagons

The societys local division in Växjö owns a steam engine and a couple of wagons. They came to us when "Föreningen rädda smalspåret" was merged into our society. In 1994 a Gp steam engine was deposited to Anten-Gräfsnäs Järnväg, now it's about to return to our society. BFp 278 has for many years been deposited to TJF and the freight wagons also. They have been used by different companies like the former VHVJ and SmAB until deposited at TJF.
